The Australian – Full Retraction

To all good people everywhere.

I would like to personally thank the Australian Newspaper, Nationwide News Pty Ltd , Rick Morton and Olivia Caisley for acknowledging the grievances I shared concerning their recent article about me and as a result of this, the subsequent defamation case against them.

I am happy to report that the matter was settled on favourable terms out of court by consent, and is included but not limited to, a full retraction and apology by the Australian on their homepage for 72 hours and the removal of the article permanently from all platforms they control.

Big thanks to Sir Graeme Bell for his continued tireless support and guidance.

Now for The Daily Mail Newspaper and see I told you there was a God !!!

With thanks and in gratitude Paul Robert Burton

“The Australian has been contacted by Mr Paul Robert Burton regarding an article entitled “Sydney tent city mayor’s link to cult” published on theaustralian.com.au website on 11 August 2017.

Mr Burton raised concerns that the article could have been taken by some readers to suggest that Mr Burton was the head of a cult, condoned violence against women and was complicit in an alternative health treatment that resulted in a woman’s death.

The article did not say such things. In fact, The Australian accepts that Mr Burton has never been the head of any cult, does not condone violence and has never been complicit in any alternative health treatments that have resulted in death.

Despite The Australian’s view of the article and Mr Burton, if anyone understood the article as suggesting the contrary, we apologise to Mr Burton for any harm or embarrassment caused.”
